I actually sat through the whole State of the Union Address.

Haven't done that since the Clinton years. Of course I wasn't really listening for the latter 50 minutes.

He gets points for his Madam Speaker opener. Every time I looked at the tv I felt like Dick Cheney was staring into my soul.

I think if he runs over an orchestra should cut him off.

I enjoyed watching the first part of it (all of the intro stuff and then a few minutes of his address), then I decided I needed to change the channel to something equally mind-numbing. Like Friends.

Dick was trying to suck your soul out.

Somebody counted Cheney's blinks vs Nancy Pelosi. They counted, in one minute, 27 for Nancy and 6 for Dick. I guess the average is something like 24 blinks/min.

I only watched the beginning so that I could hear the 'Madame Speaker' part. I turned off the rest.

Brilliant. They need to install a Wrap It Up box right next to those teleprompter reflector things. I didn't make it through the speech at all. It was a new Veronica Mars, so I read the SOTU the next morning. Instead of over an hour it was only about twenty minutes. Much better than watching him live, IMO.
