New on the Boob Tube
It just dawned on me that after this four-day weekend, I work three days (probably/hopefully more like two), and then I got another four-day (or five-day) weekend. That's a lot of time off. I'm almost glad I am working these next couple of days. If I were going somewhere, it'd be different, but that's a long damn time to be at home with not a whole lot to do and not a whole lot of extra cash lying around. Once the place is clean, what's left? I'm gonna brew some beer and make some beef stew. And catch up on tv.
Why did I not start watching The Office sooner? I watched last week's episode with the christmas parties. Hilarious. Laugh-out-loud hilarious, and I was watching by myself ('cause you're less likely to laugh out loud when you're by yourself, see).
Episodes of South of Nowhere are slow to trickle in, so I'm being patient there.
I'm going to give My Boys a whirl. Girlyish girl wearing a ponytail and a tank top who likes sports. Hello! Downloaded the first 8 eps and the last four are playing on TBS tonight and tomorrow. My weird basic satellite gives me TBS, so I'll catch those the old school way: on the VCR. I think you can still watch some of the eps online, but my woeful lack of RAM makes my browsers hate anything having to do with Flash (at least I think the RAM's the reason), so that's a no go for me.
I'm set to download the first two seasons of Weeds. A) I've heard it's funny. B) Mary-Louise Parker.
I had put 30 Rock on probation, mostly because I can't stand Tracy Morgan. But Liz Lemon and her bi-curious shoes have won me back over.
Season 4 of The L Word starts Jan 7! w00t!
I'm trying to convince myself that a little mindless entertainment is good for me. Don't spoil it.

hey chica! not sure if you're trying to download all of SON to have on hand, but you can watch the whole season, incl. 2 part finale at www.the-n.com or at least you could on Sunday night (free) versus downloading at i tunes.
I tried watching The Break (??) b/c SON won me over, but its terrible. Yay 30 Rock!
I HEART the Office and I wonder why I didn't start watching it earlier myself. It is laugh out loud funny and I do it with tons of blank stares looking back at me from my friends...
Hope your holidays are merry merry!

My Boys: I'm a little disappointed, mainly by the ridiculous continuing baseball analogies. I mean, she is a beat writer covering the Cubs, but not everything is comparable to baseball. And yet I keep watching. The Chicago references are neat, even though I'm sure they've never shot a day's worth of film in Chicago.
South of Nowhere: I had forgotten all about watching online because my RAM-deficient iBook totally chokes on it, but thank you for reminding because I have the work PC with me and I should be able to watch it on there no sweat.
I am almost tempted to cough up for the full (albeit discounted, love my landlord) satellite TV package just to get The L Word. Although it would save me the trouble of doing it later so I can watch WNBA games. Mmmm... ESPN. Hell, if I do it now I can catch some miscellaneous bowl games this weekend (although all the important ones are on FOX or ABC). Tempting....
The Office is fun but it's not a regular thing for me.
Weeds is hilarious - great show. Love it. Missed the last 2 episodes of season 2 though because I no longer have Showtime and have been too lazy to download it.
Though now that that L Word is starting again, I may have to remedy the lack of Showtime anyway.
Go out and get The Office Season 2! You must! You can probably skip Season 1, as it was only a half season and not nearly as good as 2.
I really thought 30 Rock was going to be stupid, but I like it! I think I'm a little bit Tina Fey.
I've got the Peekvid page of Office episodes bookmarked. Maybe this weekend.
The Peekvid page for Weeds has all the 1st season eps in French, so I ended up having to download that anyway. Season 2 is good to go, though. In the downloading process, I clogged up my entire apartment building's bandwidth and got my internet shut off. Oops.
Srah, I've never actually met you, but you do strike me as being a little bit Tina Fey. (That's a good thing.)
