On the L Word Season 3 Finale
<Blaine and Antoine>
Hated it!
</Blaine and Antoine>
I mean, really. Let's just throw some random crap in at the end of the season and then we'll have a few months to figure out what the hell we're doing. Ugh. On the whole I'd say this season was okay. There were some good spots (like that one episode with all that sex, Fly Girl and I agree), but definitely some low points as well (like the finale, and the fact that Dana had to die). But still, really, the best part is the AfterEllen recaps. Hilarious.
Spoilers after the jump.
I hated the idea of the Alice/Lara thing after the previous episode, but that's probably the only storyline left that I'm interested in. I get it in theory, even though it's fucked up. So I'm curious to see how it plays out.
Okay, and I want to know what happens with Bette and Tina. I {heart} Bette. It was so sad to see her feeling better about things (and I have totally forgiven her for the carpenter) only to have Tina go all crazy reactionary and let Henry keep opening his fat mouth and how long have Tina and Henry been going out and they're talking about starting a family together? WTF?
What else is going on? Kit is both menopausal and pregnant and Angus should have just shut his mouth, although methinks there's not really anything he could have said to Kit that would have been right.
Max seriously needs to go, and Jenny's still fuckin' crazy ass Jenny. The only reason she's remotely tolerable is because Max is that bad.
Peggy Peabody (love her!) is cutting Helena off, which, if I were Tina I'd be concerned because doesn't Tina work for that movie studio of Helena's? I'm not wild about the story, but if it means more Peggy Peabody, I'm down.
And Shane. Oh, Shane. You were so close. Doing so well. I'm not really a fan of Carmen, but leaving her at the altar because... your long lost father stole Helena's money and left his wife to run off with a "floozy" and he's just like you? Tsk tsk.
The recap does it far more justice. Seriously. Read the recap.
If you haven't been watching the show, it all sounds ridiculous, right? Well it's ridiculous even if you have been watching the show.
When does the next season start?

lots of women of color have been bashing the show as well and removing themselves from the ranks of viewership. I don't have/watch t.v. so i haven't seen it since season 1 but there was apparently a scene with a black chick in a glass box, yada yada yada. anyway, there's alot of weight on that one show to represent a full spectrum of a sub-group so i hope that it continues despite the ridicularity (my word).
I was a bit surprised and disappointed in a few things.
-The Tina/Henry thing; wtf, indeed?
-SHANE, my god, more wtf??
-More Peggy, please
-Cutting Helena off? WOOT! This should be interesting
-Max (Daniela Sea) CANNOT ACT. OMG, she makes Mia Kirschner look like Katharine Hepburn
I think the show starts back up in Feb. And yes, I agree the recaps are hysterical.
I've seen some of that commentary on the woman in the box. Personally, I don't really see what the fuss is. But that's just me. *shrug* There was also an item at Mixed Media Watch about people bashing Bette's biracial identity. But yeah, I agree with you on expecting this one show to be totally and accurately representative of everybody. Ain't gonna happen.
