Check Your Neighborhood for Sex Offenders
Via Casey.
Complete with Google mapping feature. And it shows offenders in crimes against both children and adults. I was sort of suprised to find that there were only two offenders within a half-mile radius and eight within a mile radius.

yeah, I got one on my street. Charming, huh?
I have one on my street, next block over (and I live directly across the street from an elementary school). Now I'm dying to know who it is.
I don't have any.... :) but I used to when I lived in Saint Paul. Its a great tool.
I'm torn about tools like this. On the one hand, I think people have a right to know about child molesters, rapists etc in their neighborhoods... On the other hand, people make snap judgments based on limited information, and folks end up these lists who really shouldn't be there. I know a guy who took a leak on a sign on the way home from a bar and was arrested for urinating in public (indecent exposure.) Now he's a registered sex offender... for life. Harsh.
