The Ladies of Wimbledon

Looks like the way the Wimbledon semifinals are playing out mirrors how I was rooting for those playing.

Venus Williams beat Maria Sharapova pretty handily. I have no love for Maria Sharapova, and I wanted Venus to have some success of her own since Serena's been the top dog over the last couple of years and was already out of the tournament.

Lindsay Davenport's match against Amelie Mauresmo is postponed due to rain with Lindsay up 5-3 in the third set. I'd prefer Lindsay Davenport to win, her being American and all, but I'm an Amelie fan because she's family and all.

In any case, I want an American to win, but I wouldn't mind if Amelie Mauresmo did. Good show.

UPDATE: Play resumes and Lindsay wins! All-American ladies' final.
