Cross-Class Relationship Reading List
- NYT article on cross-class marriages
- discussion at feministe
- further discussion at Pandagon
The gist of the article is that marriages in which the woman is more educated than the man are more likely to end in divorce. The discussions are more interesting. Great comments and observations on what class is, exactly, and how the classes interact.

I think it's probably safe to say that based on these particular premises, I am doomed. :)
I guess what I really want to know, though, is this: Do the same cautions apply in same-sex romances that cut across class?
Oh Lord, this is one of my hot topics (not to be confused with those nasty A$% Hot Pockets). Having been in this situation and married to someone of lower socio-economic standards, I can say I do not recommend it. Things can work in the short term but the issues will eventually overtake the r'ship in most cases. The hypothesis that women who marry men of lower socio-economic standing will generally head to divorce court is one I'd put my money on.
oh irk, have you done a "brew" status and I missed it or what? Have you started? What kit did you order?

I would think so. If the "traditional" male-female dynamic is what suppresses the differences. I'm sure someone someday will spend research dollars on it.
