Maybe Next Year
Via Minnesota Fringe, I came across the Vox Medusa New Years Party and it sounds really fun. Obviously I already have plans, but if I were gonna be in town this sounds pretty cool. And it's only $25! I've never gone out for New Years before.
Vox Medusa presents
Around the World New Year’s Eve 2005
Party around the world with the best dancers, musicians, performers and artists. Dance to the house beats of Minneapolis, take in the Broadway and Jazz scene of New York City, lounge in the turrets of Moscow, be a sultan and enjoy the belly dancing of Cairo, move to the rhythms of Rio and take in a burlesque kabuki in Tokyo.
This four level venue will have theaters, lounges and nightclubs each representing different cities from around the world. Each city will have a clock set to their time zone, so when it's midnight in that city, we will celebrate New Years Eve there.
Every hour is New Year’s Eve, so there's more kisses, kisses, kisses.
The Party
Minneapolis: Nightclub, first level. Get down in familiar confines surrounded by the visual art of Minneapolis with dancers painted in to an American flag and House music beats from Roomsa and Keston Westdal who will keep you dancing all night long.
New York: Jazz club style, second level. Take in a show surrounded by the New York skyline with Vox Medusa Jazz dancers, Tappers with Jazz music, and Broadway tunes.
Rio de Janeiro: Nightclub, third level. Blame it on Rio in this room created by Fernando Cabelo who will transform this room in to Carnival. Showgirls, Flamenco and Samba dancers are the real eye candy here as they shake it to live Brazilian music.
Moscow: Lounge, Mezzanine above the second level. Take a breather and cuddle up under the turrets of the Kremlin.
Cairo: Lounge and nightclub, second level. Enjoy a sultan’s life relaxing on pillows while being entertained by belly dancers Monique, Shadia and company.
Tokyo: Theater and lounge, first level. Chill out on pillows while watching Vox Medusa’s modern interpretations of Geishas, Lotus Flowers and Burlesque Kabuki.

I've never gone out for New Years before either! It's usually just an evening of eating and drinking too much at my best friend's place ;)
I am going to have to get The Boy REALLY drunk to talk him into going there.
He likes his festivities a wee bit more low-key.
