Ladies' Night
Fly Girl treats me so well. She did my laundry for me. *sigh*
I took the day off work yesterday (although I'm paying for it by working today). We ran errands all day, dropped by my house for an hour or so, and then went out last night.
There has been no going to my house. Only dropping by my house. I caught up on email. (The bastard in FG's building with the wireless network has decided to password protect it. The nerve!) Unpacked my bag, repacked my bag, loaded up the laundry, and back to St. Paul.
We stopped in at FG's friend's graduation party, went to dinner with some of FG's friends at Chatterbox, dropped by The Smitten Kitten, and then headed to Twilight at the Loring Pasta Bar. This was my first time, both at Twilight and at Loring Pasta Bar. LPB is pretty damn cool. It's dark. It's got "atmosphere." I hear the food's good, too, but I'll have to try that some other time.
Now, Twilight. It's a monthly lesbian dance party. That was an... interesting experience. By far the best part was gettin' my groove on with FG. Lawdy. She had me so distracted I kept losing the beat. Although DJ Chamun had trouble mixing songs, so I was losing the beat every time a new song came on, too. The tempos matched up, but the change was so abrupt. It sucked. But she tried hard and there were some good songs in there.
The people watching is terrific. First there are all the heteros that are in there having dinner like normal when all the lesbians start to flood in the door. Then there are the lesbians. Lots and lots of lesbians. All with very different ideas on what constitutes "fashionable" and "dressed up." And the hair. I saw a rat tail, I shit you not. But no mullets! I must say, FG and I were two of the better-looking ladies there. I wished Lachlan and Bayou could have been there. And then there are the heteros that unsuspectingly wander in later in the evening and wonder why they have to pay to get in.
So it was interesting hearing the tales of who knows who and how and who danced with who and who got whose number, etc. But I was definitely glad to be with my girl. And glad my girl was with me, and not somebody else. 'Cause she was smokin' hot last night. *whew*
