Blogsistahs: Or, How I Became A Devoted Swirlhead

It's been nearly a year since I began blogging. In that time, several very cool personalities have made their way into my heart and mind- Erica being one of them.

The inimitable Dave Tepper (who's never steered me wrong, natch) officially introduced me to the Swirlicious One. At the time, I hadn't run across many gay/lesbian bloggers, and was really interested in seeing other queer writing.

So I began reading Erica in January or so, I think, and I was immediately jealous. Not only did Erica have a prettier, more gadgety-cool site, she could write. I felt stilted and choppy in comparison, an awkward teenaged wallflower to her Belle Of The Blogging Ball.

The lil' green monster died off quick- Erica's warm wit, intelligent commentary, and authentic character shined through so readily. And she inspired me to be "me" in my writing, to be less fearful and just go for it.

I'll end my mash note post with this: if this hiatus goes on too long, I'll personally begin a collection to get Erica back online.
Because days with out Swirlspice are days only partially lived, you know.

Dude. I don't even know what to say to that. Especially coming from a writer such as yourself. Thank you, Lach. :)
