Another perk of being a regular at The Coffee Shop:
They spotted me my large soy chai when both my debit card and my Discover card got rejected. Oops. *embarrassed*
UPDATE: I managed to dig all but 10 cents of my outstanding balance out of my car. I feel better now, but still. Damn. Good thing today is payday. Guess I should have picked up last week's paycheck last week.

That was really nice of them to do. Same thing happened to me recently at a pizza shop -- but between a roll of quarters that I'd been saving for laundry and other miscellaneous change I had in the car, I managed to make up the balance. It was really mortifying, but kind of nice to know that people sympathize with you enough not to make a big deal out of your poverty. :)
