Bloggie Nomination
So, yeah, I got nominated for a Bloggie for Best GLBT Weblog. Jen Bennett turned me in did me the honors.
I'm the only chica in the category, surprisingly. The other finalists are Little Yellow Different, Just Write, Plasticbag.org, and How to Learn Swedish in 1000 Difficult Lessons. Seriously, there must not have been that many nominees. These guys are, like, famous. I'm a little too amazed to be properly grateful at the moment.
The Bloggies are the Big Dog of weblog awards (as far as I can tell) and I know there's controversy surrounding them. Scandalous stuff like voting blocs, shifty Texans, creative metadata, sabotage, and other treachery. So don't get all up in if you don't want to. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because Nikolai (the guy that runs it) goes to U of M.
There's a blurb in the sidebar over there. Not gonna freak out or obsess over it. Managing my expectations, whatnot. And it doesn't bother me in the least that I have to wait until SXSW takes place in March (March!) to find out the results. Not just for myself, but I'm curious to see who wins in all the other categories, too, as I spent a long ass time going through them all so I could make semi-educated choices. I expected, for all the reading I did, that I might pick up some new folks to read (as if I don't have enough already), but all the stuff I liked best I'm already reading (Joelle, Dooce).
Anyhoo, vote if you're so inclined. You can only vote once, and you have until the end of this month to do it. Choose wisely.

Somehow I doubt I was the only one to nominate you so I won't take all the blame...I mean credit.
I vote for you from every computer my family owns!
And that's a lot. :D
Shyeah, like I was going to vote for someone else. Well, you and Dooce.
Well, speaking for myself, I'm famous to, well, maybe 15 people?
Anyway, I just decided I'm going to vote for you. I like you, you're funny, smart, and real.
Go, Irk, go!
