Living In The Past

You know how everything historical about the South seems to focus on the Civil War? Apparently the same sort of thing goes in the Northern Plains, except it's all about the Wild West. My general impression of the Old West always seemed to take place further... west, I guess, but it's all right here in the middle, west of the Midwest. And it used to bother me (but only very slightly) that I couldn't figure out the difference between Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill. I got it now - it's Buffalo Bill Cody and Wild Bill Hickok. Not that I really want to know more about what either of them did.
