I do not have jackshit to say today.

But I feel I must say something. And cuss for no apparent reason. I can certainly do that.

Things I really should do today:

1. Call Apple. I had all kinds of complaints, but some of the technical difficulties that I had on the return of my iBook went away when I upgraded to Jaguar. So I really only need to dispute the bill they sent me. And I heard 10.2.5 is out today, so I must also get that.

2. Go outside. It’s nice as hell! Low 50s and not a cloud in the sky. And I’ve got my Yzerman sweater on in honor of tonight’s first first-round playoff game against the Ducks and it would be a shame if I were not seen publicly in it.

3. Finish levelling the 3rd piece of mom’s new armoire. It’s noticeably askew. I did the other 2 pieces yesterday and I had way too much fun doing it. I even used an actual level, and remembered to check side-to-side and front-to-back. Too bad the floor’s not exactly level right by the wall there.

4. Send my sister some commenting and traffic monitoring info so she can become enslaved to this blog thing. Except she’s got a life, so that probably won’t happen (the enslaving part).

5. Look for stuff to download from Blue Merle. They’ve been opening for Guster lately and I kinda liked what I heard. They have a fiddler and an upright bass!

6. Finish up 2 thoughts and 1 story I haven’t taken the time to really think about so I can get them off my notepad.

7. Suck it up and go to Bread Basket Deli because I’ve been thinking about it ever since mom said “corned beef” on Saturday (thank god no one has said “fries” lately). I’ve been good with the eating and the water-drinking. I deserve a nice roast beef manwich and a pickle.

I am always slightly hesitant to wear Red Wings gear in MI, as if someone would think I am from the downriver area or something. When I am out of state, however, I wear the hat often and proudly (I even accidently wore it on my way to a Rangers event).

Yes, Emily does need a comments section. Please hook her up so that I no longer have to phone my commentary to her.

One of the benefits of now having the car registered in MI is that I can find a nice Red Wings plate to put on the now-empty front plateholder. It was fun rocking the Red Wings wear (and matching car flags) in MN because they all think they’re hockey heaven or something.

Please note the use of the word “sweater.”

    Minnesota? Hockey Heaven? Oh please.

Is it a jumper or a sweater? Because where I come from a sweater will make you look like a complete dork, like some female version of Screech from Saved by the Bell or something. And the next time you’re ever in Boston, providing I’m still here of course, remind me to take you to Kelly’s, best roast beef ever!

yeah, minnesota can’t be hockey heaven, as their university’s hockey team has cheerleaders.

    ::shudders::

    Amen on the cheerleaders!

Kimberley – in ice hockey, they call their jerseys “sweaters.” Jumpers are, like, sweatshirts in the empire, right?

  • http://beenie.highlymoody.com/ Kat

    Cheerleaders? WTF?

I think jumpers over there are what we *usually* refer to as sweaters (not not hockey-type sweaters).

In the UK a jumper and a sweater are the same thing. A knitted, sleeved woolen garment. A sweatshirt is something different again.

That’s what the Queen calls ‘em, and it’s her English, so it must be right…

For further information, in hockey they call the jerseys sweaters becaues back in the day, they were actual sweaters when they played.
