Daimler-Chrysler has this car called the Smart that you can only get in Europe and Japan, but it is the cutest thing! It was introduced in 1998 (and was exhibited at MoMA in 2002). It’s 8 feet long. It’s a two-seater. It’s got 9 ft3 of storage space. Top speed is about 85 mph. It has a 7-gallon tank, but it gets about 50 miles to the gallon. It comes in coupe, cabrio (i.e. convertible), and roadster varieties. It’s gotten the highest safety ratings for it’s TRIDION safety cell (fancy words for “reinforced steel”), and the plastic bodypanels are completely interchangeable so getting the color of your choice is easy. They totally need to sell these here.
