Still Sensitive

Does anybody else still cringe a little when they see dates on or around 9/11/01? I was doing some research which I will not bore you with the details of (unless someone has suggestions for compounds that can be reacted in a ball mill, solvent-free, and easily demonstrate the progression of the reaction), and a document I found was dated 9/12-14/01 and all I could think of was, “they did that experiment right after September 11th.”

    Yeah, I do.
It’s not a cringe, really, but a sort of weird temporal distortion. Like I’m SUPPOSED to be feeling something poignant and patriotic about it, but instead I just feel weird.

Hey, that’s my name! Different Kat though.

I most certainly do. Especially at work when I see notes on someone’s account specifically on 9/11/01 – I keep thinking “what the heck were you doing talking about your internet service? Wasn’t there anything more important to think about that day?” More often though, it reminds me that indeed, there *were* other things happening that week. The world didn’t stop, I just felt like it did.

YES. Thank you. Again, you have expressed it much better than I.
