BYU changes honor code text about gay students

The new text: “Brigham Young University will respond to homosexual behavior rather than to feelings or orientation and welcomes as full members of the university community all whose behavior meets university standards…. One’s stated sexual orientation is not an Honor Code issue. However, the Honor Code requires all members of the university community to manifest a strict commitment to the law of chastity.” It’s a step. (via)

    WTF does that all mean? They can no longer throw you out for being gay but you still have to basically hide your sexuality? Sounds like lip service to me.

    I think it says, we have no problem with queer money but leave the queer sex at home.
