Apple-ish Things

When I read about the plans for Sprint PCS store remodeling, I thought the same thing as the folks at Sprint PCS Info: It’s just like an Apple Store.

Also, I suspected as much, but now I have confirmation that people spend half again the cost of an iPod on accessories for it. I’m really close to buying an iPod or an iPod mini, but I can’t afford that and all the toys I want for it, too.

Also, my friend Sherri just got herself an iBook. (And then another one, oops.) I’m so proud. *sniffle*

Word on the iPod accessories thing. My Mini didn’t come with the kick-ass remote, which, okay, it does kick ass, but it’s not a lot of product for $39. And it comes with those godawful earbud headphones. I can’t use the ones that came with the Mini–now I have two sets sitting around and gathering dust. :P

I bought the belkin tunecast II fm transmitter for listening to my ipod in the car (and it works really well, better when powered by the cigarette lighter than on battery power; stronger signal), ipod socks (just to keep it from getting scratched), and the istation from logic3 (which sounds terrific). So yeah, I guess I fell into the trap of toys for the new toy, but considering all that’s out there I think I’ve done well not to have bought more ;)

I’m loving my new iBook. :-)

I can’t get with the iPod crowd though, I just don’t get why everyone thinks it’s so great. I was totally unimpressed with it in just about every imaginable way. But whatever.
