Poke Me

I never thought I’d be much of a body mod kinda girl.

You won’t see me going all crazy and doing anything particularly weird-looking, mainly because in the line of work I’m in, the removal of visible piercings is often required for safety purposes (damn FDA).

But I cannot get past the idea of getting my nipples pierced. Even though Mel said it caused her nothing but trouble and she eventually took them out. I’m sure once they stabbed lanced mangled did the first one I wouldn’t be able to stand it long enough to get the second one done.

Although this whole Janet Jackson fiasco has me thinking, “no, never mind.” I have no idea why. I swear, I wrote most of this up before that even happened. And even all the while I’ve been contemplating it, the actual thought of doing it makes me cringe.

I think I will continue to think about doing it and not actually do it.

But nipples are so fun and lovely without little pieces of metal sticking through them! Having no personal knowledge, I bet yours are too! Fe-nips are quite the enjoyable phenomenon. :)

    from my 100 things…

“I got my nipples pierced close to a year and a half ago. It lasted for about 8 months. Then I pulled them out. I relished in their pierceless glory afterwards. I could touch them and squeeze them and rub them all over with out any pain or uncomfortableness. It was heaven. I shall never alter perfection again!”

Don’t do it! Do not do it! There’s just no need to change what’s already a wonderful perfectly fine thing to begin with. really. owie! (not to mention the scars I now have. Yes little holes that will not go away. Let’s not even mention that, mmmkay?)

But you, you do whatever you want :P

I had both mine pierced at The Gauntlet in San Francisco, several years ago. I always had inverted nipples as a child, and they tended to keep doing it as an adolescent and adult. Really enjoying erotic nipple play myself, having them pierced was always a consideration. So, when I visited SF, I went to the professionals. Yeah, the first one hurt a bit, but I’ve got a pretty high tolerance for pain. There were so many endorphins cruising through me that I never felt the second one getting pierced. They were sore for a few days while healing, but careful daily washing with soap and water, followed by anti-bacterial cream afterwards, and they were just fine two weeks later. I no longer have the inversion issue, and it’s easier for the wife to pull on them without pinching or biting too hard. ;^P

How about your tongue? If you can get past the first three days it is not bad at all!

“And it’s easier for the wife to pull on them without pinching or biting too hard”

    ow ow ow ow!

OMG, ow! I couldn’t do any nipple play for the entire time I had them in (alright, maybe just a little bit). I washed ALL the time and used anti-bacterial stuff always. ALWAYS! But still. OMG, the pain.

I can say I didn’t feel the second one all too much, but then again I had so much adrenaline pumping through me I’d doubt I would have felt it if she poked my eye out.

Wow, Keith. I never would have guessed. That is a stunning combination of “interesting story,” “good to know,” and “TMI!”

I suspect the experience is a bit different for guys. Aren’t they generally less sensitive in the nips?

I’ve thought about the tongue. It’s about the only other thing I would get pierced. But *everybody* has their tongue pierced these days.

    Keith:

    TMI TMI TMI TMI

Now I have to go wash my eyes out with soap.

To which I reply: Not THIS guy! ;^D
We’ve all got pretty much the same parts, our minds are just wired slightly differently depending on our genetics, our hormones, and our life experiences. I’d like to think I’m a little more open-minded than most ;^) guys.

And my greatest apologies to JenBen for the TMI. Erica posted about nipple piercing, and as I’ve had the experience, I thought I’d share. Whoops!

It’s not that big a deal. My nipples were the first body piercings I ever had – not the standard nose or belly button like most girls. They hurt for approximately one day, and afterward only when they are accidentally touched or bothered. And that lasts for only a month or so.

I kept mine until I got pregnant, when the nurses who did my regular breast exam would jump back, aghast at the sight of my defiled breasts. And to be honest, I’m glad I did it but prefer them out.

If anything, I think body modification is a great way to see your body in new, positive ways. Don’t do it just because you think it’s cute. It’s too painful and has potential long-lasting effects.

My boyfriend gets irritated when people show up in his shop nervous about the pain, wincing and screaming about how much it’s going to hurt. If you’re that scared to do something to your body, something that only meets some beauty objective that you’ve set up for youself, body mod is not the way to go. Get a new haircut for chrissakes.

My advice is for everyone to do some serious research before jumping in, shop around to your local shops, and then to individual artists and professionals. Ask friends, ask people with body mods that you see on the street. Shops get reputations, good and bad, for a reason.

As with anything, know what you’re doing before you say yes.
