16 People Decontaminated After Ricin Is Found in D.C. Office; Exposure Closes 3 Senate Buildings
My friend works right up in there. At 3:45 p.m.:
we’re in lock down. there are police officers in the hall and we aren’t allowed to leave the office. Senator Frist has an office across the hall (senate majority leader) and they got a suspicious package. it better be a false alarm – i really need to pee and i can’t get to the bathroom if we’re stuck in here!
Then at 5:00 p.m.:
we’re out. the best info i have is that Frist’s office found some powder in a piece of mail. it must not be anything, though. tons of police and i think i saw a yellow hazmat suit.
Then at 6:40 p.m.:
locked in again. i wonder what’s up this time…
And I haven’t heard from her since. I’m sure she’s perfectly fine. Freaky, though.
UPDATE: She was one of the people that got hosed down and decontaminated! She’s okay, though. I’ll check back in when I get the full story from her.
