ATL, baby!

I’m in At-laaaan-ta
And I’m with Keeeel-ley
And I’m with Teeeep-per
And you ain’t goooot none.

Kelley’s got most of the blow-by-blow of the weekend, so I’ll just fill in where I can. As I was taking the MARTA train north towards Kelley’s neck of the woods, I was getting more and more excited, and more and more antsy with each passing stop. Seeing Kelley and Spiderman waiting for me at the station was an awesome sight. I was totally trying to be cool, but really I was flipping out geeked on the inside.

Kelley took me out for a muy delicioso Mexican dinner and saved the day by remembering I’d left my sunglasses on the table. Losing those would have been tragic! Then it was off to the airport to pick up Dave. We had a moment of brief panic where we weren’t sure we’d recognize him without a beret and swathed in red, then figured at the least he’d recognize us before we recognized him, and then it didn’t matter because we found him just fine. I could have picked out that adorkable face anywhere.

Many hugs later, we headed back to our hotel to drop our stuff off, then moseyed over to the restaurant next door, figuring we’d have a drink then hit the sack. Except the restaurant was closed already. And by this point I could barely keep my eyes open any longer (having worked the previous night and not sleeping all day), so I begged off and Kelley and Dave went out and had a beer for me.

“I thought you said you had a hot body.”
“No, I said I make a mean hot toddy.”

That is classic Spiderman. He’s got the routine down pat. This little guy is the cutest thing ever. Smart little dooker, and quite the talker. “Miss Erica, I have something to tell you.” He had lots of things to tell me. We looked up each others noses for boogers. I think it’s love.

Saturday we spent touring Atlanta and all its various neighborhoods, and then we stopped back in at Casa Blight for a bit before the BlogMeet. Pete plied me with adult beverages. He makes a mean chocolate martini (and what a great guy, that Pete). They were so damn good I probably had one too many, because I was sure feeling it at the Taco Mac. After the BlogMeet we adjourned back to my hotel room where all this bidness came from. In addition to Kelley, Dave, David, Michael Demmons, and Jessica Harbour, we were joined by Greg Greene who it turns out is a friend of Dave’s from law school. How ’bout that?! I was convinced it was about 2 a.m. by the time I went to bed, but I’m told it was only midnight. Whoops.

“Rats! Big muthafuckas with dicks this long!”

Sunday we were gonna try to catch De Doc who was in town for some swashbuckling and sword fighting but the fates and the weather conspired against us. So it was back to Casa Blight for some chillin’ and an awesome dinner. Mmmm… garlic… :9 We all needed recovery time from Saturday, so relaxing in each other’s company all day was just what the doctor ordered. Spiderman and I took a bunch of pictures and he and Dave read books. We had great drinks (again, Pete with the drinks), great food, told jokes (hence the punchline above), talked about all y’all and blogging in general, and had a nice relaxing and fulfilling evening.

I was so sad to leave Georgia yesterday. I had the best time I’ve had in a long time. I saw some new things, I met some new people, and I’m taking home a couple of good friendships. And I was really digging that weather. I had kind of a mental block against ever moving somewhere so… um… southern. But Kelley done showed me the light.

And seriously I can’t stop cheesing at how much I enjoyed Kelley and Dave. Dave is just the nicest, friendliest, most thoughtful, adorkable, sweet sweet guy. So smart, and knowledgeable about just about everything. And underneath all that sweetness and trivia is a mastermind. Do not go up against him playing The Mole. You will not win. I wanted to pinch his cheeks and play with his hair the whole time. I did pinch his cheeks a lot. Kelley is so friendly, and gorgeous, and fun, and a great hostess, and really hot, and just a pleasure to be around. And hot. She’s got a big personality that lights up a room. And she’s multi-talented. She sings. She does accents. And she’s really fucking gorgeous.

I could get used to hanging out with those two. I can’t believe I just decided to do this on Wednesday. Good call on my part, I think. I was in need and deserving of a vacation anyway. Thanks for a great time, you guys. Lovies!

P.S. Pictures are forthcoming, I promise.

Lovies, dahling! I am so glad you enjoyed yourself; I had a BLAST and am suffering from severe PTED. That’s Post Tepper-Erica Depression.

I want you to come back soon, and so do Pete and Spidey. Spidey especially; he thinks y’all are getting married!

I have a long gushy mail to send you; look for it tonight after I get Spiderman in the bed!!
