Live from Atlanta….

… it’s Saturday niiiiiiiiight.

This is the most action a hotel room of mine has seen in ages. Input from those present:

Michael: I get to post first, because my husband has me on a chain – i.e., I have to go home. For all y’all who missed the meetup, you missed a great time. Thanks to Erica & Dave for stopping by Atlanta and putting up with us Southerners (even though some of us are transplanted Canadians.) God, Kelly was the only straight person here. WTF?? Gotta go. Robert’s getting cranky.

Jessica: I was about to reassure Robert that we weren’t having a lot of political discussion and suddenly we’re on Strom Thurmond and the 17th Amendment. (Six people at varying points on the Kinsey scale in a hotel room with a big bed and we’re . . . talking politics. I agree with Michael: WTF?) . . . anyway, I am awfully glad to have seen Dave T again, and learned that JournalCon planning hasn’t eaten his brain, and to have met Erica, Dave, and Michael (finally!). This was worth coming all the way out to Alpharetta and deflowering my Georgia Cruise Card. It’s quite sad, how much having a Cruise Card delights me. And as Kelly declares, “I have seen all of society, from the top ledges to the seediest underbelly,” I’m turning this over to . .

David: I’m too high to say anything much more than how happy I am to see these guys. Nice hotel. We have to keep Erica awake. Help us. It’s only 9:30!

Irk: I think I’m about to get kicked out of my hotel room, there’s so much smoke, but I’ve got offers of places to stay, so no big whoop. Hotel room coffee is so not as good as the continental breakfast coffee I had this morning. I think we’re talking about gays in the military or “what would I do if I were president” or whateva, I do what I want. My decision to come to Georgia this weekend was very last minute, but it was a good decision, because I’m having a marvelous time. Miss Kelley (I can’t stop calling her that, proper southern madam that she is) has been a most gracious hostess and she and Dave are the bomb diggety, much as I thought they would be. If I ever needed (more) reassurance that bloggers are good people, I’ve certainly got it now.

Dave: Good lord a’mighty. Anyone who knows me knows that I get extremely tired very quickly when I have to be around people. But I was around Erica and Kelley from 10:00 this morning until 10:00 at night, and I’m still going strong. It’s a rare person that can keep me interested and involved for 12 hours straights, but they, along with Jessica, David, and Michael, kept me going all this time. What a rush. What a time. And what a cool bunch of people—we’ve gone through everything from silent movies to politics to getting French kissed by a dog. (Don’t ask. I didn’t invite it.) Point is, this is the greatest group of bloggers on earth, and I’m so happy I decided to come to Atlanta for the long weekend. This may not be my usual idea of a vacation—that involves warm weather and beautiful masseuses and hot cabana boys—but it’s been easily the best, most worthwhile break from routine I’ve had in a long time. Thanks, y’all!

Okay, so I had to go home and missed out on having my big fat say up in here. WE ARE HAVING SO MUCH FUN! I will shrivel up and die if Erica doesn’t move to Atlanta and hang out with me. Or else I’ll have to brave the cold of Minnesota (I’m scared!) to go and see her. ERICA RULES. My husband is totally in love with her, too – that bitch!

That Tepper dude is just about the purest heart I’ve come across in a very, very long time. I am more impressed with him than I can possibly express without getting sappy.

This blog meet was killa. We must do it again!!!
