Officials and parents at an Australian high school are all in a tizzy over this heterosexuality questionnaire.
The survey aims to make straight people think about how they developed their own sexual identity. It points out inherent prejudices by substituting the word “heterosexual” into questions very commonly asked of gay people.
Apparently a substitute teacher snuck it in. Officials say the problem is not the intended point about trying to understand what gay people go through, but that the questionnaire itself is too sexual in nature.
Some of the questions from the survey:
- Is it possible that your heterosexuality is just a phase you are going through, something you will grow out of?
- If you’ve never slept with a person of the same sex and enjoyed it, is it possible that all you need is a good gay/lesbian lover?
- Why do you insist on flaunting your heterosexuality? Can’t you just be what you are and keep quiet about it?
- A disproportionate majority of heterosexuals are child molesters, Do you consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexual teachers?
- How can you become a whole person if you limit yourself to compulsive, exclusive heterosexuality? Shouldn’t you at least try to develop your healthy, natural homosexual potential?
