I’m not real sure what I would consider my Perfect Day to be like. It would involve sex, for sure. So yesterday was not quite a Perfect Day, but it was pretty darned close there for a while.
It’s been about 80 degrees the last few days in the Twin Cities. Yesterday I was up to watch the sun rise. I went outside and took a few pictures on my block. I went down to Lake Calhoun. The trees are at peak color. The sun shone down on the the trees and the lake and the Minneapolis skyline peeked up on the horizon. There were a few people out fishing. There were flocks of geese walking and ducks swimming. The breeze was just cool enough to be refreshing and warm enough to be comforting. I managed one 3.5-mile lap on rollerblades without feeling too terribly out of shape.
When I was done I went to the nearby Jamba Juice for my first smoothie since returning to Minnesota, and they had the Pumpkin Smash smoothie for fall (and a couple of cute and very friendly girls behind the counter)! :9
I drove home with my Power-sized Pumpkin Smash with a Vita Boost. I had the sunroof open and the windows down. I left the radio off and was sort of saying “Whateva! I do what I want!” out loud to myself. About every 3rd time I’d crack myself up. And then…
*record scratch*
…the lid slipped off the smoothie cup (because I was holding it at the top) and I dumped some Pumpkin Smash in my lap and down between the seat and the console. Fortunately I had an abundance of leftover McDonald’s napkins in the car so I sopped most of it up with one sticky hand, wondering if my roommate has a steam cleaner or if it’s time for me to invest in one.
But I made it home, finished up the smoothie, took a nice refreshing shower, and went to bed with the fan blowing to create not only comforting white noise, but the perfect breeze and temperature for sleeping under one sheet and down comforter.
The rest of the day was spent working, so it is not included in my Perfect Day.
