Some Mo’ B-Ball

I went to the Shock game last night. It was Game 3 (of 3) of the first round of playoffs. And it was much better than Sunday’s game. For starters, they played great. Much better on the rebounding, stayed mostly out of foul trouble, and were definitely on with their shooting.

My mom got so excited she squeezed her thunder sticks too hard, bursting them and rendering them useless. She had to actually clap. With her hands. Ya know, there’s a trick to getting the most noise out of thunder sticks: beat them lengthwise, not crosswise.

So they kicked Cleveland to the curb and will go on to the conference final vs the Connecticut Sun whom they are 4-0 against in the regular season. The next home game is Game 2 on Sunday, but alas, I’ll be out of town.

I see a replica jersey in my future.

Bonus #1: AAA discount meant 2-for-1 tickets. Not sure if that’s an ongoing thing or if that was just for that game.

Bonus #2: Lisa Lisa (from 93.1 WDRQ) did the announcing! I’d recognize her voice anywhere. She was much better than the nasal guy from Sunday.

Bonus #3: Helen Darling is still so fine.
