Breaking News: Cheap Weird Food and Drinks

If you live in/around Ann Arbor or are so inclined to be there in the next couple of days, Merchant of Vino on Plymouth Rd by North Campus is closing (because they’re moving in with the new Whole Foods down on Washtenaw). Foodstuffs are reportedly 50% off and wine and beer are 30% off. Good time to try some funky stuff you might not have wanted to drop the cash on before.

    I LOVE THAT STORE!!! I went there a few times with my parents… once or twice after a baroque choir concert (if I remember rightly, there’s a concert hall near there). I was WAY too young to appreciate wine but my undying affection for that store and the way I drooled while in it forshadowed my ultimate yuppiedom. A Whole Foods even??? Ahh, but you haven’t seen a REAL Whole Foods (or “whole paycheck” as we call it here) until you’ve seen the one in Portland. Tres magnifique!
