I think I successfully managed to avoid that person I wish would stop calling. The ex-never-was-my-girlfriend. She was visiting (she’s from here) from Vancouver (where she lives now) via Ottawa (where she was attending a conference).
I conveniently was out of the state for most of the time she was here. And then I didn’t call back. Hey, my mobile phone plan does not allow me to call Canadian mobile phone numbers without a hefty per minute fee. And my calling card’s expired. Using locally-based landlines does not support my argument and were not considered.
I am mostly guilt-free over not returning the call. Conflict avoidance by contact avoidance. Although contacting her wouldn’t have necessarily turned into conflict. But I would have had internal conflict. I should probably work on not referring to her as “bitch-ass.”
