I Really Shouldn’t

Detroit to New York for $99 this weekend on American. Leave late Friday or early Saturday, return Monday or Tuesday.

Memorial Day Weekend: Use miles to fly to San Jose, CA for a week with friends? Somehow get myself to Daytona, FL for a free week’s accommodations at my friend’s family’s timeshare? Drive up to Minneapolis and see all my peeps? Stay home and conserve the ching?

$99 round trip Detroit to NYC? I don’t care how poor I was, I’d HAVE to round up the ching for that one. Then again, I’m biased.

As for Memorial Day… hmmm… free week at a timeshare sounds nice, but you don’t mention how many friends would be there. You’re closer to The Cities, therefore making it easier to get there on a more semi-regular basis than San Jose. Based on the info you’ve given, I’d have to say “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?”

There are many fabOlous parties this weekend, as it is graduation time. In fact, Saturday is GO-ALL-OUT NIGHT, starting at The Park and continuing where ever the road may take us.

Don’t tease! There’s also the whole Mother’s Day thing this weekend and I’m still trying to come up with a token gift or service.

I’m pretty sure I’ve ruled out FL. I’m not feeling great love coming from Minneapolis, either. Many folks seem to be unwilling to commit to staying home that weekend. I’m not trying to spend 2 whole days driving to maybe see some folks. That trip will probably get pushed into June. San Jose (which means San Francisco, too) is still up in the air. I should really check those flights.
